Miriam Baby Centre in Kathmandu
Because of poverty, wrong sex or other reasons sometimes newborn babies are abandoned immediately after birth and often left to die. To help pregnant women in their vulnerability, and in order to save unwanted babies, Miriam Baby Center was recently started at the end of 2012. The center focuses on supporting and helping women to prepare for childbirth and to care and assist after birth.
The first baby that was born in the centre was named Miriam, and now more babies have arrived. Recently three babies, (triplets) arrived and are cared for.
